GOGO IT LAB Inc.

After studying abroad in the Philippines twice, I was impressed by the Filipinos' hospitality and the country's abundance of labor, which is one of the world's leading official English-speaking countries. I chose to join the project in order to help make my passion a reality. When I first studied in Cebu, I was a complete amateur in English, and the Filipino teachers enthusiastically taught me English without fuss, and they treated me as if I were a family. I will kickstart this project's success with my passion and purpose for Cebu Island and my gratitude to Wada and his team for welcoming me as a core member of this project.

FID has also opted to develop its offshore operations in light of the company's recent global expansion. My experience studying overseas and working on an offshore project in Vietnam in my twenties, combined with my global perspective, inspired me to embark on a new endeavor in my 10th year as an engineer. Throughout my offshore experience, I evaluated the local programmers' abilities and discovered them to be good and outstanding. However, I encountered numerous obstacles, which I now consider to be a very worthwhile experience. I'd like to return to the fundamentals and seek knowledge on a daily basis so that I can better understand the personalities and characteristics of the people in Cebu and carry out projects flexibly, and I'm confident that all members will work diligently as development professionals to help FID grow even more.

For years, I worked in Japan in a completely different industry, which led me to adapt to the country's unique culture and manners. Working with Japanese folks has always been a pleasure for me. During the middle of the pandemic in December 2020, I was offered the opportunity to return to the Philippines and be part of the pioneer team for FID's development hub. It was a bittersweet one because Japan has been my home, but working with my people in the Philippines has always been an honor and will always be a wonderful experience, hence I decided to move back. To be able to bridge the cultural divide between Japan and the Philippines by bringing together the finest of both countries' traditions and customs while also making use of my natural leadership abilities is the greatest honor I could ever get.

My love for programming came back when I started to work with GOGO IT LAB Inc. I also learned a lot of new things while working here. I wasn’t able to feel pressure yet because the management and fellow developers here is nontoxic and always spreading good vibes. I envy technologies that make me wonder. I am a materialistic person, but it’s not because I work with object-oriented environment, it’s because I really value the memories with all the Internet of things I touch before. Just like Java I sometimes run out of memories but I do go to learning classes once in a while to return some omitted functional information. I am also an extroverted programmer that is why when I talk to people, I just sometimes look at their shoes.

I've been working at GOGO IT LAB for about 9 months, and it seems like I'm just working at home. When I joined GOGO IT LAB, I was the only QA on board but never did I feel alone and had difficulty working because everyone is easy to get along with and always extends a helping hand whenever it is needed. On top of that, free lunch and free snacks are provided.
